European Central Bank expected to keep benchmark interest rate on hold at 1%

The European Central Bank is expected to keep its benchmark interest rate on hold at 1%, when the ECB Governing Council meets in Frankfurt today. In London, the Bank of England is expected to leave its main rate at 0.5%, while its unclear if the bank will extend its securities purchases.
