European Central Bank expected to keep benchmark interest rate at 4.25% today

The European Central Bank Governing Council will meet today in Frankfurt and it is expected to keep its benchmark rate at 4.25%. In London, the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee is expected to keep its benchmark rate at 5% despite the forecast by the OECD on Tuesday that the UK will suffer a recession in the second half of 2008.
