Dr Peter Morici: US reports November trade deficit was $40.4 billion - down from $56.7 billion in October

Today, the US Commerce Department reported the November trade deficit was $40.4 billion. This was down from $56.7 billion in October, largely because oil prices fell and the recession is curbing demand for imported consumer goods and petroleum.
