Deutsche Bank expects to “return to profitability” this year, Chief Executive Officer Josef Ackermann said in a statement today. Meanwhile on Monday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned bankers to maintain sustainable growth once the global economic crisis subsides, adding that the pace of any recovery would be far slower than the rapid decline. She said the recovery is going to be a long road.
