Annual Irish Manufacturing Prices up 3.9% in year to February because of dollar impact in US dominated sector

Annual Irish manufacturing prices increased by 0.9% in February 2009. This compares to an increase of 0.2% recorded for February 2008. As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 3.9% in February 2009, compared with an increase of 3.2% in January 2009, according to the CSO. US firms dominate Irish manufacturing and the increase in factory gate prices compared with the falling trend in other developed country markets, reflects the movement of the US dollar versus the euro, in the period.
