Annual Irish manufacturing prices up 0.3% in September; Movement in dollar/euro rate main factor

Monthly Irish manufacturing/factory gate prices remained unchanged in September 2010. This compares to an increase of 0.2% recorded for September 2009. As a result, the annual percentage change showed an increase of 0.3% in September 2010, compared with an annual increase of 0.5% in August 2010.  Because of the dominance of US firms in the manufacturing sector, the main determinant of movement is the change in the US dollar rate versus the euro.
