Annual Irish manufacturing prices fell 1.0% in June; ; US dollar/Euro movement a key determinant of price changes

Annual Irish manufacturing prices fell by 0.8% in June 2011. This compares to a decrease of 0.4% recorded for June 2010. As a result, the annual percentage change showed a decrease of 1.0% in June 2011, compared with a dip 0.6% in May 2011. As Irish manufacturing is overwhelmingly dominated by US firms, monthly price changes usually follow changes in the rate of the euro versus the US dollar.
