Annual Irish manufacturing prices down 0.7% in October; Movement in Us dollar/euro rate a big factor

Monthly Irish manufacturing/ factory gate prices decreased by 2.5% in October 2010. This compares to a decrease of 1.5% recorded for October 2009. As a result, the annual percentage change showed a decrease of 0.7% in October 2010, compared with an annual increase of 0.3% in September 2010. because of the overwhelming dominance of US firms in Irish manufacturing, movements in the US dollar/euro rate is a big factor for price changes.
